Flower and Photo of the month
Informal competitions for members attending meetings (except the Spring Show & Christmas Social).
Flower: Members are invited to bring along one stem from any plant currently flowering in their garden, in their own vase or something similar.
Photo (introduced in 2025!): members are encouraged to bring a favourite photo of a seasonal flower. It is all about the flower!
All the people present at the meeting are then asked to judge their favourite of the flowers and photos by placing a single coin alongside. The coins are counted and points awarded to the 3 flowers and 3 flower photos with the highest number of coins (not the value).
A donation will be made by the Club at the end of the year to 'Perennial', The Gardeners Royal Benevolent Society. Any further donations can be added to the 'Perennial' collecting can on the table. At the end of the year a shield will be presented to the member gaining the most points overall.
